I get asked every day, "Where did that stuff come from?  How do I keep it from getting on my computer again?"

*sigh* It's the $50 Million question (or was that $64,000?).

Malware is coming from EVERYWHERE these days.  Email, P2P programs like Limewire, Frostwire, etc, Warez/Crack websites, Adult oriented websites, Social networking sites like Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc.  It even comes from completely legitimate websites that have vulnerabilities in them that the criminal orginizations take advantage of to "push" their code to your computers.

I've even seen where the "rogue" security software writers are paying for ad space on legitimate websites!

I'm working on more info on this, but you've simply got to be careful.  If it looks to good to be true, or you don't recognize that person on your favorite social networking site, DON'T CLICK THE LINK!

And, it should go without saying these days, but an updated fully functioning antivirus/firewall is a MUST!  That being said, with 20,000 new submissions dailiy, antivirus vendors have a hurculean task even reacting to malware threats, let alone stopping them in the first place.
